What this speed test measures
This is a device speed test, not an internet speed test. It runs two short benchmarks in your browser and combines them into one score:
- CPU (million ops/sec) — a one-second burst of maths in a tight loop. This reflects your processor's single-thread speed, which drives page loads, JavaScript-heavy apps and general responsiveness.
- Graphics (FPS) — a two-second animation of 500 moving particles on a canvas. The frames-per-second it sustains reflects how well your GPU, browser compositor and display keep up with animation. Note that FPS is capped by your screen's refresh rate, so a 60 Hz panel tops out near 60.
- Overall score — a single number that weights CPU and graphics together so you can compare devices or track a machine over time.
How to read your score

Why your score changes between runs
Run the test two or three times and you will see some variation. That is normal and usually means one of these:
- Background load. Other tabs, downloads, video calls or updates steal CPU and drag the score down. Close them for a clean run.
- Thermal throttling. Phones and thin laptops slow the CPU down once they heat up. A cold device scores higher than one that has been gaming for an hour.
- Power settings. On battery, many laptops and phones cap performance. Plug in and set the power mode to "best performance" for the real ceiling.
- Browser. JavaScript engines differ, so the same device can score differently in Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Is this an internet speed test?
No. There is no download, no upload and no server — the whole benchmark runs on your device, which is why it stays true to this site's privacy model. If your connection feels slow rather than your device, that is a separate thing this tool does not measure.

Why is my score different every time I run it?
Some variation is normal. Background tabs and apps, thermal throttling as the device heats up, battery power-saving modes, and even which browser you use all shift the result. Close other apps, plug in, and run it two or three times for a stable reading.
What is a good speed score?
Above 1,400 is excellent (recent gaming PCs, M-series Macs, flagship phones). 900–1,400 is good for a modern laptop or mid-range phone. 500–900 is fair, and under 500 is a modest or throttled device. The numbers are relative, not lab-grade.
Why is my graphics FPS capped around 60?
Frames per second cannot exceed your display's refresh rate. A 60 Hz screen tops out near 60 FPS even on a fast GPU; a 120 Hz or 144 Hz screen will show higher. Check your panel with the refresh rate test.
Is this test accurate enough to compare two devices?
It is good for a quick, relative comparison run under the same conditions — same browser, both plugged in, nothing else running. For precise, repeatable benchmarking, dedicated benchmark apps go deeper, but this gives you an instant, private ballpark.
