How to test your mouse
- Click each button on the mouse diagram and scroll — each part lights up when it works.
- Use the double-click pad to catch a worn, self-double-clicking button.
- Run the CPS test to measure your click speed and compare over time.
Mouse double-clicking on its own?
If a single physical click registers as two clicks in the double-click test, the micro-switch inside the button is worn. It can sometimes be cleaned, but a worn switch usually needs replacing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check for a double-click problem?
Click the pad slowly. Any "double" counts from single clicks mean a faulty button.
What is a good CPS?
Average is around 6–8 clicks per second; 10+ is fast. The test just helps you compare your own results.
