How to test your headphones
- Wear your headphones the right way round (L on left, R on right).
- Press Left ear — the tone should be only on the left. Then Right ear.
- Press Both for even stereo, then run the balance sweep — the sound should glide smoothly from left to right.
One side quiet or silent?
Try the headphones on another device to tell whether the issue is the headphones or your computer. Check the L/R balance slider in your sound settings, and inspect the cable near the plug, where wires commonly break.

Are my channels swapped?
Press Left — if you hear it on the right, your channels are reversed.
Does this test wireless headphones?
Yes — once they're connected as your audio output, the same left/right test applies.
